Who these terms are between

This website is run by Grey Area Research LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Frisco, Texas (“Grey Area Research”, “we”, “us”). “You” is the person placing the order. Placing an order means you accept these terms as they read on the day you place it.

Accounts and age

You must be 21 or older to hold an account or to place an order. One person, one account.

Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account counts as done by you, so tell us straight away if you think somebody else is in it.

We can close an account that gives false details, that is shared around, or that is used to break these terms.

Orders and payment

Prices are in US dollars. Payment is by Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or cash at approved local pickup. Nothing is charged when you place the order, and we never ask for or hold a card number.

You get the exact payment instructions, with your order number, the moment the order is placed.

Put only your order number in the payment memo. A memo with anything else in it can delay your payment and your order.

An order is a request until the money arrives. It is confirmed — and only then queued to ship — once we have payment in full.

We can decline or cancel any order, before or after payment. If we cancel one you have already paid, the money goes back the way it came.

Shipping

We ship orders paid by 1:00 pm Central the same business day. Orders paid after that go out the next business day. Carriers: USPS, FedEx, UPS.

Delivery dates are the carrier’s estimate, not a promise from us. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier takes the package.

Grey Area Guaranteed Delivery is optional and is chosen, or declined, at checkout on every order. Nothing is chosen for you. The next clause sets out what it is; the full policy is on the Grey Area Guaranteed Delivery page.

The address on the order is yours to get right. A package sent to the address you gave us, and delivered there, is delivered.

Local pickup in Frisco, Texas must be approved before you use it and is reserved for customers we know personally. If you are unsure, call us or select a shipping method.

Grey Area Guaranteed Delivery

Grey Area Guaranteed Delivery is an optional guarantee we make ourselves. It costs 1% of the merchandise subtotal of your order after discounts, with a minimum of $1.00; shipping, tax and the fee itself are not part of the figure it is worked out from.

If you add it and the shipment is lost while the carrier has it, we replace that shipment once, at no additional product cost and no shipping charge to you. It is a replacement, not a payment, and if something is no longer available we may offer a substitute, a store credit or a refund instead. If the original turns up afterwards, you keep both — we never ask for it back and never charge you for it.

If you decline it, you make this acknowledgement at checkout and it is stored with your order:

I understand that I am declining Grey Area Guaranteed Delivery. Once Grey Area Research has properly shipped my order and the shipment has been accepted by the carrier, Grey Area Research will not be responsible for packages lost while in the carrier’s possession. I understand that a replacement, refund, or store credit is not guaranteed for an unprotected shipment that is lost in transit.

Each order stores the choice you made, the amount, and the version of the policy in force when you placed it. Declining does not affect the damaged-or-incorrect-shipment rule in the next clause.

All sales are final

All sales are final. Damaged or incorrect shipments reported within 3 days of delivery, with a photo, will be replaced at our discretion.

The three days run from the day the carrier records delivery, or the day you collect a local pickup. Send the photo and your order number to [email protected] or through the contact form.

Nothing in this clause takes away a right Texas law gives you that cannot be waived.

Prices, listings and stock

Prices, listings and stock can change at any time, and a listing can be withdrawn. We work to keep them right, and now and again one will be wrong: if an order is priced wrong we tell you before we take payment, and you either confirm the corrected price or cancel.

A price you were shown does not oblige us to honour an obvious error.

Sales and automatic discounts apply exactly as your cart shows them at the moment the order is placed.

Acceptable use

You may not use this website to break the law, misrepresent who you are, or place orders you do not intend to pay for.

You may not scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site, interfere with how it runs, or reach for accounts, orders or data that are not yours.

You may not resell what you buy here as though it came from you, and you may not take our text, photographs, name or marks without written permission.

Account holders

Certain products available to account holders are subject to additional terms presented and accepted at account creation.

The website itself

The website and everything on it are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows — including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Grey Area Research LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or the cost of substitute goods, arising out of this website or any order placed on it.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim is about.

Where the law does not allow a limit like this, it does not apply.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Grey Area Research LLC against claims, losses and costs that arise from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the website.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. The version on this page when you place an order is the version that governs that order. A material change is called out here.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts of Texas, and both of us agree to their jurisdiction.
